Stephen Moyer in Lilies (2007)

Lilies by acclaimed screenwriter Heidi Thomas (I Capture The Castle, Madam Bovary) is an eight-part drama series for BBC ONE by World Productions for BBC Northern Ireland.

Tough, sexy, funny and heartbreaking, Lilies details the lives of Iris, May and Ruby Moss – sisters coming of age in a dockland terrace house. Familial love sustains them, and their fortunes are bound to those of their brother and their father.

Set in the years immediately following the First World War, Lilies pulls no punches in its storytelling.
It depicts a sensual, vivid and sometimes savage world, where life is lived on the breadline, yet fuelled by various kinds of love. All three girls must make their own way in the world.

Mr Brazendale (Stephen Moyer)

A complex and sensitive man, Richard Brazendale (35), played by Stephen Moyer, inherited his father’s hugely successful shipping business when he was in his twenties.

Wealthy and respected, he lives in thrall to his beautiful and fragile wife, Madeleine. When Madeleine’s obsessions spiral out of control, his marriage becomes an instrument of torture. His struggle to balance being a good husband with being a good man leads him to the brink of self-destruction.
